DUTIES OF A BROKER

INTRODUCTION

1-1 The insurance broker plays a pivotal role in the UK insurance market. The broker may act for the insured or reinsured (or prospective insured or reinsured), or may be instructed by another broker to place insurance cover on the broker’s behalf. The broker may also, in certain circumstances, perform functions on behalf of the insurer or reinsurer.1
