This was the second application before the Court for leave to appeal against an award of an arbitrator pursuant to s.1 of the Arbitration Act 1979. The applicants were the buyers of a quantity of sugar under a contract on the Refined Sugar Association rules. They sought remission of the award for further findings from the arbitrators in relation to the evidence supporting a finding in the award. They also sought leave to appeal.
