Salvage - Lloyd’s form - Notice of appeal

Following a successful salvage operation, the salvors were awarded DM. 350,000 in a Lloyd’s salvage arbitration. Solicitors acting for shipowners and cargo owners filed notice of appeal on behalf of the shipowners but not on behalf of the cargo owners. On appeal Lloyd’s appeal arbitrator found that a “properly generous award” was DM. 270,000. However, the sum due from the cargo owners, who had not appealed, was not reduced and so the total sum payable was DM. 278,000.
