Norcan Electrical Systems Inc v Feeding Systems A/S and Ors (The "FB XIX" and "FB XX") - Federal Ct (Trial Div)(Hargrave P) - 2 June 2003

Admiralty jurisdiction - Whether arrested vessels "sister ships" of wrongdoing vessels - Section 43(8) Federal Court Act - Amount of bail to be set for release of vessels

The plaintiff brought an action in rem and in personam against the vessels FB XIX and FB XX, and their owners, Feeding Systems A/S, claiming $74,929.75 for necessaries supplied to those two vessels ("the Canadian necessaries claim"). The FB XIX and FB XX were arrested.
