The vessel Stamatina P was voyage-chartered on the Gencon form for the carriage of a cargo of bagged cocoa from Abidjan, Ivory Coast, to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. On 2 January the vessel arrived at Abidjan in ballast and anchored in the roads awaiting the 10 January expected ready date, and tendered notice of readiness. Cargo operations did not commence until 13 January.
