Pusan Shipbuilding & Engineering Co Ltd v. The ship ‘Ivan Korobkin’ - High Court (Paterson J) - 30 June 1997

Admiralty practice - Whether applicants entitled to apply for leave to intervene in order to participate in priorities after judicial sale of vessel

The vessel Ivan Korobkin was sold pursuant to an order of the Court in 1996 and there was approximately US$1 million held in Court for distribution to creditors. The applicants applied, pursuant to rule 22 of the Admiralty Rules 1975 (‘the Rules’) for leave to intervene. The plaintiff opposed the applications.
