Time charter - Late redelivery - Measure of damages recoverable by owners for overlap

The charter was on the NYPE form for a trip, with delivery Rangoon and redelivery Mombasa/Cape Town range “duration 30/35 days”. The trip in fact lasted almost 50 days and the owners claimed damages for the overlap. There was no question about liability, but the charterers said that the owners had suffered no damages.
