London Arbitration 25/95

Charterparty - Whether owners liable to charterers in damages for delay in releasing bills of lading

This was another dispute arising under London Arbitration 24/95. The charterers advanced a claim on the basis, firstly, that the owners had wrongfully delayed in advising of the completion of loading and the signing of clean bills of lading, and secondly that the owners had delayed in the releasing of bills of lading following the payment of freight. Clause 23 of the charter provided:
