Lighterage operation aborted - Whether reason for failure due to bad weather or due to mismatch of ship to be lightered and service ship

Astra Oil Company concluded a lighterage agreement with Skaugen Petrotrans Ltd to perform a lighterage operation involving a cargo of 360,000 bbls of high sulphur fuel oil on the tanker Mantinia . The cargo was to be conveyed from the tanker to the receivers facility in Corpus Christi, Texas. The lighterage agreement was on an amended Asbatankvoy charterparty form which incorporated additional special clauses. The vessel Deneb was the service ship.
