Cargo insurers, subrogation and recovery agents

10.1 Most, but by no means all, cargo carried by sea will be insured against the risk of loss or damage whilst in transit under the terms of a cargo insurance policy. Insurance will normally be taken out for the CIF value of the cargo plus an uplift, usually 10%.
