Equus Re shuts London office after Rhine Re merge

LONDON -The London contact office of Equus Re has closed in the wake of the company's acquisition by Rhine Re. The office, which was opened late last year, closed its doors for the last time yesterday, 24 hours after the announcement of the deal. Rhine Re already has a large London market office and the decision was taken to close Equus Re's London market operation which had been led by David Howkins. Mr Howkins and his team spent yesterday informing brokers of the new arrangements and the business underwritten by Equus Re and sourced though the London operation
