THE FUTURE OF THE TECHNOLOGY AND CONSTRUCTION COURT

The Lord Chief Justice and the Lord Chancellor have responded to expressions of concern that have been made in some quarters about ‘the lack of involvement of High Court judges in the work of’ the Technology and Construction Court (hereafter TCC). On 7 June 2005 the Lord Chief Justice issued an announcement which sets out interim arrangements which have been made to ensure that all TCC cases are tried by appropriate judges. These arrangements came into effect on 7 June. Work will continue on the preparation of a new edition of the TCC Guide but in the mean time the arrangements applicable will be as follows:
