BENFIELD TO OPEN OFFICE IN BEIJING

UK-based insurance and reinsurance broker Benfield has received approval from the China Insurance Regulatory Commission (CIRC) to open a representative office in Beijing. The company has had a representative office in Shanghai since 2003. Huang Ling, previously employed at the Shanghai branch, will head the Beijing operation. Benfield international division CEO Dominic Christian said that the new office would “work closely with our Shanghai General Representative office, the Benfield Asia regional head office in Singapore and the specialty teams throughout Benfield to provide treaty and facultative reinsurance programmes and risk advisory services in all classes of business to our customers throughout the Greater China region”.
