SOMPO LIFE LINKS WITH ONLINE PRICE COMPARER

Japan-based Sompo Japan Himawari Life has linked with locally based price comparison web site Kakaku to allow customers to take their required medical interviews online, at the same time as they are purchasing their life cover. The service will be offered on the Kakuku.com web site via Kakuku.com Insurance Inc. The new system requires that the customer sign up using a special terminal, which has a web camera that allows the purchaser to interact online with a doctor. The policy will be available in Tokyo at first, later extending to Osaka and Nagoya.
