NEWS IN BRIEF
A Boeing 737...
operated by Indonesian airline Adam Air crashed in a mountainous region on Sulawesi Island yesterday, killing 90 of the 102
people aboard. The domestic flight from Java Island to Sulawesi disappeared in bad weather about an hour before it was due
to land. It was apparently flying several thousand feet lower than it should have been when it crashed. Adam Air is one of
many budget airlines that have emerged in Indonesia since deregulation in 1999. It began operating in 2003 and was founded
by Agung Laksono.
