SBI LIFE SEES TAMIL NADU CONTRIBUTING 10% OF AGENCY BUSINESS

Indian assurer SBI Life, a joint venture of State Bank of India and France-based Cardif, is to open five more offices in the state of Tamil Nadu with the aim of producing 20% of its agency channel business from the region. The new offices will be in Nagercoil, Salem, Erode, Velore and Pondicherry. SBI Life is looking for Rp10bn in premiums from it agency channel throughout India in financial year 2006-07.
