The stable financial conditions experienced during 2006 allowed a number of important regulatory initiatives to be taken forward
at the UK, European and international levels. Much of this has nevertheless focused on completing or carrying forward earlier
work in certain key areas although various new more specific policy proposals or regulatory action have been undertaken.
