Commission issues recommendation on financial institutions’ accounts

The EU Commission has published a recommendation that financial institutions and banks disclose additional information in their annual accounts. The additional information would include details of financial instruments, risk measurement and management systems. The EU Commission believes that disclosure of this information would help customers to assess more accurately an organisation’s financial performance, which would ultimately lead to enhanced market discipline.
