Is MiFID being neglected by European firms?

Jonathan Williams reviews the repsonse and progress made by European firms to implement MiFID.

In recent months, the level of media interest in MiFID has risen considerably. Partly this can be attributed to the European Commission releasing the Formal Drafts for “Level Two” Implementing Measures in February. However, many commentators, including consultants and analysts have indicated that so far the response from British and European firms has been slow. Many articles have highlighted the short time-frames for project work before November 2007 and expressed concern that more progress has not been made.
