Regulatory approval of individuals in the financial services industry under scrutiny by the Financial Services and Markets Tribunal
Joanna Gray, University of Strathclyde
Challenges to some of the Financial Services Authority’s (FSA) enforcement decisions before the Financial Services and Markets
Tribunal have received considerable press attention of late. This is due to Legal & General’s wide ranging challenge to the
FSA action against it in respect of endowment mis-selling, which began in September (scheduled to last some 13 weeks). Also,
the Chairman of Shell announced his intention to contest aspects of the FSA’s action in relation to market abuse by the Shell
group discussed here last month (see the September issue of
Financial Regulation International
for the full details).
