European Commission discusses money laundering and terrorist financing
Sergio Beristain, Brussels
The European Commission has recently been discussing the extension of the Money Laundering Directive to the financing of terrorism.
The bill, if approved by the Parliament and Council, will apply 40 recommendations made by the Financial Action Task Force
(FATF) and will extend the scope of the bill from providers of services to companies and trusts and life insurance intermediaries.
