Securitisation of trade receivables in Poland

In this article we look at certain legal considerations arising from trade receivables securitisation originated by Polish companies.To date there have been a number of securitisations originated by Polish companies. The first-ever Polish securitisation is believed to have been originated in 1999 by a company active in the medical sector and was backed by trade receivables from hospitals. There have not been any securitisations with securities denominated in currencies other than Polish zlóty. All asset-backed securities programmes so far have been domestic; none of them has been placed in the public markets.
