The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has adopted final rules that will amend the rules governing its Electronic
Data Gathering Analysis and Retrieval (EDGAR) system – the system by which companies must file their securities documents
with the SEC in electronic format. The new rules require all non-US issuers of securities, including non-US governments, that
have to file documents publicly with the SEC to file those documents electronically, rather than in paper form, through the
EDGAR system.
