Former chief executive of the Financial Services
Authority John Tiner is to serve on the independent panel set up by the Conservative party to review regulation. Mr Tiner,
who left the FSA in the summer last year but was under paid contract until January, will join Teresa Graham, who recently
stepped down as deputy head of the government’s Better Regulation Commission, as part of the panel formed under the guidance
of Sir David Arculus, former chairman of the Better Regulation Task Force. According to the Conservatives “top heavy central
regulation too often stifles innovation” and it wants to look at ways of improving the regulatory system.
