FSA measures up to committee scrutiny
A new report from a House of Lords select committee rounds off a year plagued by reviews, investigations and analysis of the financial services regulator. IR&A looks at how the regulator has fared in the latest review, which pitches the FSA against its regulatory peers.
The Financial Services Authority (FSA) has been well and truly laid bare this year. A string of reviews and reports, internally
and externally courtesy of the National Audit Office, the Treasury Select Committee and the Davison Review, should be enough
to silence any critics of the regulator’s transparency. However, for those left wanting, a new report sits the FSA alongside
regulators of other industries to see how they are performing.
