Briefly noted

▪ Alberto Corinti stepped down as secretary general of Ceiops at its AGM in mid-September to take up the role of economics and finance director at the Comité Européen des Assurances (CEA). Mr Corinti will focus on developing the industry’s response to Solvency II and IFRS for insurance. Carlos Montalvo, of the Dirección General de Seguros y Fondos de Pensiones in Spain, was elected Mr Corinti’s successor at Ceiops and he will take up the position in mid-October, assuming full responsibilities for the post from 1 November 2007. Mr Corinti, who has worked at Ceiops since its formation in 2004, will also take up his new position at the CEA on 1 November.
