Global brokers have been under pressure to reform remuneration arrangements with insurers ever since Eliot Spitzer investigated the use of contingent commission in the US, and the Commission adds to the debate in its final report. However, it says it needs to do more work on this area and it has decided to follow up its work on broker remuneration and transparency as part of its existing review of the EC’s Insurance Mediation Directive.
