Ceiops supports insurance guarantee funds

The European Commission’s insurance adviser Ceiops has added its support for mandatory insurance guarantee schemes across Europe. The European Commission is currently considering whether to propose a framework for safety net schemes in the event of a firm’s failure, originally in response to a request from the European Parliament, and has commissioned an external consultant to conduct a feasibility study, which is expected to complete in the second half of 2007.
