▪ The European Parliament’s committee of inquiry into Equitable Life has been adopted without any major amendments and the final report will now move to the full Parliament for approval. The report, which was issued in draft form in April, concluded that the UK regulatory system failed Equitable Life policyholders and that the UK should set up a compensation scheme for policyholders.
