London’s insurers make a date with No 11
The Treasury is keeping up momentum behind the government-industry joint effort to raise the competitiveness of London’s financial
services – and has given a special focus to the insurance market – following the latest meeting of the High Level City Group.
The group, chaired by the current Chancellor Gordon Brown and fronted by the economic secretary to the Treasury Ed Balls,
met for the second time at the beginning of May and announced that Mr Balls will host an Insurance Summit in the autumn at
the (new) Chancellor’s office.
