UK stands firm on Solvency II

The reality of Solvency II is sinking in. It is no longer just a theory, and it is no longer a far-away target. IR&A reports from the Association of British Insurers’ conference “ICAS 2007 and the path to Solvency II” held in London recently.

It may seem as though discussions about Solvency II have been around for some time. Indeed they have, but in July this year the European Commission is due to publish a framework directive that will give the industry and national regulators something concrete to work with for the first time since the project began.
