EU safety net study gets under way

UK consultancy Oxera Consulting will conduct a study into insurance guarantee schemes in the EU following its successful bid for the contract offered by the European Commission. The Commission had been due to make a decision in the first half of 2006 on whether to raise legislation forcing member states to operate an insurance safety net but put its decision on hold to allow a feasibility study to be carried out.
