▪ CRA International is to oversee a research project that will compare implementation of the Insurance Mediation Directive across Europe’s member states. The directive’s rules should have been in place since the beginning of 2005 although some member states have yet to fully implement the rules. The study will look at the impact that implementation of the directive has had on insurance intermediaries and the authority chosen to administer the rules. The UK, much criticised for its gold-plating of the EU directive, has conducted its own review of the rules and is considering significant revisions to be more in line with other member states.
