Reinsurance rules challenge UK
The regulator has been thrown into making some difficult decisions
The Financial Services Authority (FSA) will tackle the issues thrown up by the adoption of the EU Reinsurance Directive over
the next few months following the recent approval of the new laws. The FSA has several areas to iron out to make it compatible
with the UK’s current reinsurance laws, not least certain rules that, if they remain, will be seen as super-equivalent to
the new minimum standards that the directive introduces.
