FSA ponders costs study
In the first survey of its kind, the regulator pins down the cost burden of its rules
The UK financial services sector could see more rules removed or modified following the outcome of a joint study by the Financial
Services Authority and the Financial Services Practitioner Panel on the costs of regulation. The FSA said it would use the
research, conducted by Deloitte, to assess whether rules in particular problem areas highlighted by the study, such as point-of-sale
disclosure by retail firms and training, could be relaxed.
