The collapse of HIH in Australia lost investors thousands and added to the already tarnished image of the industry following
the breakdown of the Australian reinsurance market in the 1990s. The result, a 1,500 page report, is all that remains to take
heed of the lessons that can be learnt for directors, policyholders, investors, competitors and, of course, regulators.
