Canopius to set up Dublin unit

The specialist Lloyd’s insurance group, Canopius is setting up a unit in Dublin “later in 2008”, according to group chairman, Michael Watson. Canopius Ireland will initially focus on providing structured reinsurance solutions for medium sized corporate clients. Mr Watson said that this will both address a gap in the market and provide further growth and diversification opportunities for the group which announced the launch of platforms in Bermuda and Singapore in recent months.
