Insurers count losses after first year of privatised health insurance

A new campaign by Dutch pharmacies will publicly hail those insurers they see as more considerate over paying drug costs

The first year of privatised health insurance in the Netherlands has left insurers facing an average loss of €31 ($46) on each basic health care policy, and €0.18 ($0.27) for each complementary policy. The figures have been compiled by Vektis, a company specialising in healthcare insurance data.
