Russia to make critical changes to insurance law

The Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov last week signed the insurance industry bill that is intended to be the basis of legislation regulating the industry until 2007 – the increasingly likely date of Russia’s WTO entry, after which the insurance industry is likely to undergo further deregulation. At the same time, the government approved amendments to the main insurance law at its meeting last week.
