Regulatory shift in Caribbean

There is now a clear drive towards integrated regulation of the financial services industry in the Caribbean. Support for the move within the insurance sector is driven by the belief that the structural shortcomings, which led to the near-collapse of the life sector in Jamaica in the early 1990’s, will be rectified when financial services are brought under one regulatory umbrella.
