US reinsurers factor in Allison damage cost
US reinsurers, facing massive losses from the attack on the World Trade Center, are also in the process of establishing their
exposure to damage caused by tropical storm Allison in April. This is expected to be in the region of $2.5bn. The industry
is also facing a dramatic increase in asbestos and other environmental damage claims.
