New Zealand bank forced to compensate mortgage protection client for exclusions
National Bank, one of New Zealand’s ‘big four’ and a subsidiary of the UK-based Lloyds Bank group, has been ordered by a court
to pay a woman NZ$250,000 (US$105,000) because it did not warn a couple that the life insurance policy the bank arranged to
safeguard their mortgage contained unusual exclusion clauses.
