CCR
French state-owned reinsurer
Caisse Centrale de Réassurance (
CCR) reported a significant improvement in its results for 2000. This was largely due to a reduction in the number of natural
catastrophe losses last year. The company produced a pre-tax profit of €123mn (US$104mn) last year, compared with €38mn for
1999 when the company’s result was severely impacted by catastrophe claims.
