IRDA in broker appeal

India’s Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority has approached the government for an amendment to the Insurance Act that prohibits payment of commission by an insurance company to anyone other than an agent. This provision is coming in the way of devising the rules for brokers in the non-life market.
