Committed to liberalisation

Australian Prime Minister John Howard recently visited London to promote stronger business ties with the UK and Europe. The nation, though, stands accused by the EU and the US of obstructing financial services liberalisation at the World Trade Organisation (WTO) unless it has its way with agricultural liberalisation. Mark Vaile , Australia’s Trade Minister, says that liberalising financial services is very much in the country’s interest.
