The recent collapse of IPB, the Czech Republic’s third largest bank, will definitely have an impact on the 2000 profits of
Ceska Pojistovna, the country’s largest insurance group. But Ceska’s chairman Ladislav Bartonicek assured shareholders at
the company’s annual general meeting that IPB’s failure did not pose any threat to shareholders’ funds.
