Two very different ways of thinking about the future of Germany’s public-law companies were displayed by two associated companies;
Provinzial Düsseldorf and Provinzial Münster. Both companies have their origins in the old state-run fire insurers, and both
are market leaders in their respective regions, especially in buildings insurance, but also in many other lines.
