Malaysia New moves on consolidations

The central bank is to double the minimum paid up capital of insurance firms in an effort to increase the pace of consolidation in the industry. The new measures will require insurers to have a paid-up capital of M$100mn (US$26.3mn), compared with the M$50mn currently required.
