Mesothelioma widower wins £125,000

The widower of a woman has settled his claim against his former employer for £125,000 following his wife’s death from mesothelioma caused by her exposure to asbestos. She died after being diagnosed with mesothelioma. According to his lawyer, the wife had exposure to asbestos in two ways. Firstly, she was exposed to dust and fibres carried home on his clothing from his employment as a carpenter for a building firm. Secondly, she had her own business cleaning new houses for sale in the 1970s and 80s. This included clearing up spilled Artex which was often used on the ceilings of the houses and at that time contained asbestos.
