£6.3mn in damages for car crash

A man who was left severely disabled after a car crash has won a settlement of £6.3mn in damages. He was on his way to a camping trip when the driver of the car he was in lost control and crashed into a field. He was thrown from the vehicle and sustained serious brain injuries, leaving him requiring round-the-clock, live-in care for the rest of his life. A settlement of £6.3mn to cover the cost of his future care needs was approved by the High Court in London. The claim was made against the insurers of the driver of the car.
